That's the last message she sends though, spending the rest of her day fixing some of her artwork and trying to reorganise her new room. When it gets close enough that she won't seem overeager, Clary heads out, opting to walk instead of take the tramline. Of course, she doesn't make it there before Isabelle, but at least it looks like she's only got their herself when Clary skips over to hug her. )

You know, I'd tell you how good you look but that's pretty much always for you.

( the last of her own sent through, before phone is set aside and bottom's pushed off the edge of the bench she'd settled on in wake of clary's text. sucker punch had become somewhat of a solace for her, a means of expelling all the haunts that'd followed her to cadelle, the sort of things you couldn't really run away from.

everything that'd happened so recently with max, alec at the head of the institute, and it falls distant all the more the moment she spots familiar fiery locks giving their joyful bounce nearer to her, standing up from the cute little dimly-lit table she'd secured from them to return her embrace. )

Did you expect me to show up any differently? ( a snicker against the girl's hair, and she's pulling back, holding her at arms length with a mix of relief and familiarity crossing her features. )

It's so good to see you.

( That relief on Isabelle's face is echoed in Clary's. She can't help her smile, softer for all the feeling behind it. She's selfishly glad Isabelle is here, because the other girl has been at her side for so long it felt unnatural to not have her there. Every time she's picked up her phone to text her something, Clary's had to remind herself that she can't. It's hurt a little more each time. And while she'd known she was here for a reason, that she needed her wish to come true, there's still been something in her that had yearned for the comfort of the Institute. It's better now.

It's easy, to take her seat opposite Isabelle, shrugging off her coat and tucking her bag beneath the seat. All the while she's smiling helplessly, far too pleased. )

So, how are you? Have you been settling in okay?

( honestly, izzy isn't quite sure where they should even start—coming to cadelle on it's own had been an adjustment, but there's been so much that's happened already along the way. she's not used to nor has she ever often preferred the attention to be on her, but it wasn't as if there wasn't a topic that wasn't ready to spill from carmine lips the moment they'd finally been within the same vicinity as one another.

she's never really had anything like what she does with baby, hasn't really had someone to confide in with those things, either, aside from alec—and while she loved him to death, he didn't exactly carry the same reactionary flare clary did when it came to such subjects. she supposes the best way to start is honestly, before she gets too ahead of herself. )

It's been... I don't know, different? ( a gesture to the side for them to sit once more, placing palms over the menu folded just before her, though mind's mostly absorbed in the whir of thoughts keeping her company. ) I've never known anything but the Institute, you know? Not having Alec, ( until just recently, ) having no briefings and anything to report to, it's made me restless. ( if the bruises she's yet to iratze along her knuckles speak anything of the matter. )

But things have helped. ( sucker punch, training, late night runs to spike her heart rate. him. )Someone's helped, a lot.

( Different is an apt way to describe things. Clary's not sure she would have been able to cope had she not found Jace almost straight away. Izzy has always been an independent kind of girl though, and she can only imagine things were much different for her. ) You're having to adjust to a Mundane life. I think it would be hard for any Shadowhunter. ( Even she's been restless, unsure of herself. But for most of her life it's been like this. Normal. ) But you'll get there. There's time here to deal with everything.

( Personally she thinks they need it. They've all been through so much and instead of getting the space to work through it they just have to keep moving forward. Clary just hopes that the time doesn't have any detrimental affect.

But then Izzy mentions a someone, and Clary's eyes go wide and her smile turns delighted. She leans over the table a little more, grinning. ) Oh? Have you been holding out on me, Lightwood? Have you found yourself a cuddle partner? I want details! Immediately.

( The poor waiter who keeps eyeing them from the other side of the room. He's in for a night, if it's going to be gossip central. )
